Stephanie + Jonathan - Middleton Lodge Wedding

 

Stephanie and Johnathan’s wedding was just elegant and there is beauty in being able to feel elegant and be as relaxed as you can be during the wedding. Like photographing a butterfly, be patient and careful and you will feel the true joy within the moment.

Stephanie and Jonathan’s wedding was not just elegance it was a lot of fun they knew how to have a good time. Stephanie and Johnathan got married in a local church before heading off to Middleton Lodge. It was a lovely day and i was surprised to see in the hundreds of times the church had been photographed for weddings it seemed that no one had noticed the natural forming heart in the trees. So it was a perfect spot for the confetti shot.

As the guests returned to Middleton Lodge, they enjoyed the summer afternoon in this eloquent house setting before retreating to the marquee for speeches and dancing.

The moon was out and had an ethereal look to the sky so i popped a few lights up and asked Steph and Jonny (we were friends by this point) to stand and relax for a few seconds for the lovely evening shots that i have never seen replicated since at Middleton Lodge. Something truly special and individual for a special couple.

Lartington Hall is a beautiful place to get married, with its natural rural farmland surroundings and lovely gardens, and the building itself with its stately home clean architectural design, Lartington really is the place to have a fantastic wedding day.  Every time I photograph at Lartington I find different ways to get the perfect images.

I first met Lindsay and Anthony at a pre wedding shoot just so they could get used to the camera and it helped make things nice and relaxed for the day.

The day was lovely, we had a few fluffy clouds as our backdrop as we made use of the gardens. Lartington Hall has a purpose build chapel which was lovely for the ceremony. We had a little wander around the grounds and outside of the grounds we met a few sheep, the light was really breathtaking. Lindsay and Anthony were amazing and what a beautiful and relaxed couple they were for the photos. This was my 250th wedding and it didn’t disappoint! On the evening we danced the night away and even managed to sneak off for a few portraits under the setting sun.

Wynyard Hall is a beautiful venue which lends itself to the more classier couple. Lauren and Gavin came to me because they were looking for something elegant but fun. They were a great couple to work with we got on very well. The day was full of love and closeness as the people who were there really mattered and cared. As you like it Wedding, Newcastle / Amy + Martin

 

As you like it, Jesmond, Newcastle. A place I have been to socially and this was my first wedding here in a professional capacity. I had so longed to work here for various reasons. I love the fun vibe of the venue, in the party area of Jesmond. The challenge was the biggest attraction as so many photographers struggle with the lighting, but its what makes it, what it is! So how do we work with the light and not kill the ambience?

Technicalities aside. The wedding was just lovely with so much energy, love and commitment to the day, to the feels and the atmosphere. The day was alive! Amy and the girls were there to have fun that was for sure, but Amy’s efforts in caring for each bridesmaid with all the little details certainly didn’t go unnoticed.

Amy donned a dress by Eliza Jane Howell, the ‘Annie’ gown, Marrime Bridalwear, Jesmond, and rocked the boho shabby chic look straight away, only complimented diligently by her flowers designed by Newcastle’s Hollie, from Fleur Couture.

After the ceremony we popped over to Jesmond Dene for a little wander around the beautiful autumnal leaves. A little white dove flew over to us said hello and left as a lovely sign of blessing as we walked down the bridge. I spotted this lovely little hidden area with trees and leaves all surrounding which had never been photographed before in this popular location. After a few shots here we returned to the car as table tennis was playing and drove back to the venue. The car was one of Northumbria Classic Car Hire’s classic cars and I dangled above Amy and Martin at high speed in a rock and roll effort to capture something cool.

It was one of those weddings where the couple really went above and beyond in the details and this one was certainly one to remember. During the speeches Martin asked the residents of the top table to pop the confetti cannons with a certain colour to represent. As the confetti fired it was announced “Its a girl”! There were so many tears of joy at this announcement.

As we went into the night, everyone embraced the love and laughter, and it was exactly the kind off party they wanted it to be. Great times.

Middleton Lodge Wedding Venue Review by Paul Liddement

Middleton Lodge is one of the most elegant and atmospheric wedding estates in the North of England. Set within two hundred acres of parkland near Richmond in North Yorkshire, it blends Georgian architecture, gardens full of character and beautifully restored spaces that work for every season. I have photographed weddings throughout the estate and each visit brings something new with its changing light and garden colours.

The Fig House and Walled Garden are among the most sought after wedding locations in the region.
